Festival Merchandise Coordinator

Reports to: Sponsorship Coordinator, works with Producer

 

Job Purpose: To provide guests with an exciting merchandise shopping experience while maintaining a secure and clean retail area.

  

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Understanding and knowledge of monetary transactions

 

Work setting:

  • Outdoors rain or shine
  • Merchandise Tent
  • Standing and walking

 

Timeframe:

  • July 1 to August 31
  • Pre-festival organization
  • Friday to Sunday

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Good verbal communication skills and sensitivity to customer needs 
  • Coordinates and organizes all aspects of performer and festival merchandise as much as possible prior to the festival
  • Returns performer merchandise at end of festival (or soon if performer is leaving early); with payment for merchandise sold less calculation for festival commissions
  • Completes inventory of performer merchandise
  • Completes receipts for sold merchandise
  • Completes proper monetary transactions for selling of merchandise
  • Sets an area for performer autographs
  • Works with finance to ensure proper storage of money and credit/debit receipts
  • Responsible for selling 50/50 and raffle tickets, drawing the winners, and relaying that information to the MC at the appropriate time. The Sponsorship Coordinator will ensure that the winners receive their prizes.
  • Any silent auction items will be displayed, secured, and managed at the Merchandise Tent.  The Sponsorship Coordinator will collect payment for the items, and ensure that they are given to the highest bidder.
  • Ensures a safe, clean and friendly environment
  • Provides a good impression to guests and enthusiastically answers any questions about the festival
  • Understand and complies with the Central Music Fest volunteer regulations and code of ethics
