Security Coordinator

Reports to: Festival Producer and Volunteer Coordinator

 

Works with:  Security Consultant

 

Job Purpose: To ensure a safe, secure environment for all Festival people.

  

Qualifications:

  • Prior security experience preferred
  • Knowledge of laws and government regulations
  • Alberta Drivers Licence
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sensitivity to customer needs

 

Work setting:

  • Outdoors rain or shine
  • Standing and walking
  • Festival parking
  • RV parking
  • Hospitality Tent
  • Beer Garden
  • Stage

 

Timeframe:

  • Friday afternoon to Sunday evening

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Understands and complies with the Central Music Fest volunteer regulations and code of ethics 
  • Coordinates and schedules security volunteers to ensure all required areas have coverage
  • Responsible for the protection and care of a safe and clean festival site environment
  • Provides a good impression and enthusiastically answers any questions about the festival
  • Assists any person who requires help directly 
  • Refers people in need of assistance to the proper coordinator or area of responsibility, ex. First-aid, lost & found, etc. 
  • Monitors and reviews information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess possible problems
  • Observes and records any security related issues, an incident report may be required
  • Patrols an area, specific location or roam as required
  • Ensures that the emergency access lane is kept clear
  • Ensures that the festival site is secure and in good order before Night Watch begins
  • All radios signed out must be returned by the same person
  • Ensures all rented and borrowed items are returned in good condition
  • As required assists patrons leaving the site
